Zaha Hadid's pavilion is comprised of a structure of lightweight aluminum with a tensile fabric skin. The ceiling features louvers which bathes the interior with an interaction of light and shadow throughout the course of the day. The interior of the pavilion serves as a screen for a large-scale video installation celebrating the history of Chicago with visions of its future.

Rockey Structures provided structural engineering for this project, which is designed to be able to be disassembled and reassembled in another location.

This is one of two temporary pavilions constructed in Millennium Park in downtown Chicago to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Daniel Burnham and Edward H. Bennett's landmark 1909 Plan of Chicago.
